Alireza Abiz, Iranian poet, literary critic and translator is secretary of the English Section of the “Intellectual World” Short-short Story Contests. A team of internationally renowned writers will judge the works. Experienced readers will assist the judges in selecting the shortlists. More details about judges and the process of judging will be announced later in this website

Alireza Abiz was born in 1968 in South Khorasan Province, Iran. He studied English Literature in universities of Mashhad and Tehran. He has so far published two collections of poetry (Stop! we shall get off, 1998 and Spaghetti with Mexican Ketchup, 2004) as well as many critical reviews and literary articles in different journals. His poetry has been anthologized frequently and been translated into English, German and Arabic languages.   He is an award-winning translator and has translated a considerable amount of work from English into Persian and from Persian into English

Abiz is currently a PhD Researcher in Creative Writing at the University of Newcastle in the United Kingdom
